Wake up to a warm morning and enjoy a great breakfast. Once done, set off to Anuradhapura, early kingdom in north central region in Sri Lanka (UNESCO World Heritage Site) where often known as the sacred city. You will be heading north on a four-hour journey. Once you’ve arrived at the hotel, leave your baggage, freshen up and take off once again to explore Mihintale Mountain Peak where the birthplace of Buddhism in Sri Lanka, First scared Buddhist place with monastic education centre, Ambasthala terrace with Invitation rock, most ancient stupaa, Kantaka Chetiya, Refectory hall and ancient hospital.

Discover Ancient Buddhist Capital Anuradhapura
After breakfast you will visit Archaeological Museum of Anuradhapura and It is a rich source of information on the heritage and culture of the ancient city of Anuradhapura. Afternoon you visit the ruins of Mahavihara Monastery complex, Visits the Sacred Sri Maha Bo tree in Anuradhapura which is over 2200 years old and the oldest living tree of the whole world with a written history, Maha Stupa and Brazen palace.

Abhayagiri Monastery Complex
After breakfast we will visit Abhayagiri Monastery complex. It is one of the most extensive ruins in the world and one of the most sacred Buddhist pilgrimage cities in the nation. Today you will be visiting Kuttam pokuna (Twin Ponds) the Ruwanvali Stupa, the Thuparama Dagoba (enshrines the Buddha’s collarbone relic) the Samadhi Buddha Statue, The Abayagiri and Jethawana Dagoba and Moon Stones and many other sacred Buddhist sites.

Heading to The Second Kingdom
After an early breakfast leave Anuradhapura and to be arrived the second kingdom of ancient Sri Lanka “Polonnaruwa”. The journey will be about 2 hours approximately. Once you reach there firstly visit the Archaeological Museum of Polonnaruwa which is famed for being the starting point for the traveller looking to explore the ancient ruins of the Polonnaruwa Kingdom that thrived from the 11th Century AC to the 13th Century AC. Then we can explore the circular relic house (Vata-da-ge) Lankathilaka, Thuparama, Royal Palace, Rankoth vihara and Galvihara with the beautiful rock-cut Buddha statues are amazing works of art. After one hour drive you will arrive to the hotel in Sigiriya.

Climb The Lion Rock
After breakfast you will climb 8th Wonder of the World, “The Lion Rock” UNESCO World Heritage Site. A massive rocky plateau 370 meters above the sea level 260 meters above from the surrounding area. Buddhist monastic settlements were established in there during the 3rd century BCE. You will spend between 45 to 60 minuets to climb to the top of the rock and colourful frescoes, boulder gardens, terraced gardens, water gardens are the other major attractions you can see on the way. Late afternoon you will experience the way of life in a village Sri Lanka. During the tour enjoy Tuk Tuk ride, traditional catamaran ride, bull cart ride and walk through the local villages, paddy felid and local community as well as last some local foods.

Going to The Last Kingdom Kandy
After breakfast set off to Kandy where the home of the Temple of the Buddha’s Tooth Relic. The journey from Sigiriya to Kandy, which will take approximately 2 hours. On the way to Kandy visits the Dambulla rock cave temple, which was built by king Valagambahu in the 1st Century BC. Dambulla is a UNESCO world heritage site and is the most impressive of Sri Lanks’s cave temples. The complex of five caves with over 2000sq meters of painted walls and ceilings is the largest area of painting found in the Sri Lanka. Lunch will be arrange in Matale Spice Gardens. This is excellent places to understand the ancient ways of preparing traditional Ayurvedic medicines and also to stock up on your Sri Lankan Spices. Enroute visit Aluvihare Rock Cave Temple in Matale where the oral teachings of Buddhism (Tripitaka), were written into Pali on palm leaves.

Explore Kandy
After Breakfast we will travel to explore the city of Kandy tour. Kandy is the last bastion of Buddhist political power against colonial forces, the home of the Temple of the Buddha’s Tooth Relic. Kandy is also the capital of the highlands of Sri Lanka. Visit the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya which was conceived originally in 1371 as the Kandyan queen’s pleasure garden, Peradeniya became the residence of a Kandyan prince between 1747 and 1782 where royal visitors were entertained. In the late afternoon we will visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic and a spectacular traditional dance performance will also add colour to your day.

Arrive to Commercial Capital Colombo
Today you will be travelling to the commercial capital and largest city Colombo. Once you reach Colombo a delightful city tour will be arranged. Places of interest such as Gangaramaya Temple, Independence Square, Galle Face Green, Fort area and Dutch Hospital will be included in this tour. Return to the hotel and get some rest in the afternoon. In the evening we will visit Kalaniya, the temple visited by Lord Buddha eight years after gaining enlightenment.

Colombo to Airport and Departure
It is the last day of your tour in Buddhist county Sri Lanka! You can pack your bags and get ready to leave the hotel. We will pick you when it’s time for you to leave and take you to the Bandaranaike International Airport. And then it will be time for us to say our
